The Washington to Edwards Crossing section of Yuba River - South Fork is 14 miles long and is a class IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The nature scenery of California and the cool fresh water are     reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The river winds through the Northern Sierra Nevada and you get great scenery. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around   here. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Briefly about the general area: This is a popular site for people from Washington, and some exciting geology is available here, Pleasant Point is right here. And if that's not sufficient there's loads more amusing things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Yuba River - South Fork; Lafayette Ridge Trail is a pleasant local trail. Empire Mine State Park is a good site to stop at, and nearby you locate glorious places like Missouri Canyon. Good hiking is available along the Humbug Trail, and sites like Malakoff Diggins State Park are fine to take a look at.
