  The nature scenery of Colorado and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Colorado are harder than the national norm, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This river system has a few good paddling stretches
    and the Bridge to Erikson Springs Campground section is one of them. The starting point is not too far from Edwards, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Getting some good exercise and just hanging
out with mother nature are great reasons to come. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your sleeping bag. There's camping available near Anthracite Creek - Ruby Fork. This section of Anthracite Creek - Ruby Fork in Colorado is 11 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V+ section. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling  
rivers.

Briefly about the general area:
Good hiking is available along the Munsey Ruby Stock Driveway, and a spree to Gunnison National Forest is a good idea. There's great hiking along the Hammond Trail, and while you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Somerset. This is a great river. Going to Paonia State Park in the neighborhood of Anthracite Creek - Ruby Fork is a splendid thing to do. Anthracite Creek - Ruby Fork is a location that is relatively arid mostly. During August this area sees the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture.
