The starting point is not too far from Canon City, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The beautiful     Front Range scenery is an added bonus. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Colorado you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The Highway Rincon to Pinnacle Rock section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The scenic beauty of Colorado and the cool fresh   water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Briefly about the general area: Good hiking is available along the Rainbow Trail, and since you're here why not explore Basin Gulch. Yeah, come up here to the Front Range for a delightful time.
