  The starting location is a short drive from Silverthorne, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of Summit County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers.
    This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Blue River Camp Ground to FR 2400 section is one of them. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Colorado is often tougher than elsewhere, so don't forget that a large
number of rivers in this state are not easy. When you're paddling down a Park Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is a bit of a short stretch so no need to bring snacks. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Blue River Camp Ground to FR 2400

Briefly about the general area:
Target Bluff is an interesting thing to make out while you're here at Blue River, and there is a glorious hiking trail nearby called the Gore Range Trail. This place, the Park Range, has so much outdoors amusing things. A tremendous place to have a look at near Blue River is Erwin Gulch, and when you're here it's always fun to go to Arapaho National Forest. This river is so perfect. Near Blue River you locate the Slate Creek Trail which is a fine hiking trail; you'll meet a lot of people from Silverthorne here.
