  If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. If you're coming from Boulder it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places
    for that. This stretch of Boulder Creek in Colorado is 2.5 miles long and has been rated as a class V section by American Whitewater. The beauty of the Front Range is a great plus for this river. The natural beauty of Colorado
and the water flowing gracefully down Boulder Creek beats anything. This is a short paddling stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.  
This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too.

Briefly about the general area:
Don't leave Boulder Creek without first going for a hike along the Kings Lake Trail; pretty scenery and magnificent skiing is what you obtain at Eldora. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Front Range. There's magnificent hiking along the Lost Lake Trail, and you're sure to stumble upon some wonderful people from Nederland here. This river is a great place to visit. At Boulder Creek you don’t see much rainfall. Of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture.
