Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.   For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. Briefly about the general area: You unquestionably should go to Ridgway State Park while you're here at Cimarron River, and you're sure to encounter some smiling people from Cimarron here. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the San Juan and Jemez Mountains has to offer.
