  If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Colorado you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The nature scenery of Grand County and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. This is a somewhat short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over.
    Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The starting point is not too far from Silverthorne, there's a road map further down the page with
more info on that. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch of Colorado River is 3 miles long and is a class IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The campgrounds here  
at Colorado River are pretty good. Whitewater paddling here in the Park Range is a great experience.

Briefly about the general area:
A day on the slopes of SolVista Basin is just what you need, and close by you locate the Sulfur Trail which is a nice hiking trail. All the outdoors enjoyable things in the Park Range will keep you coming back many times. Don't leave Colorado River without dropping by Arapaho National Forest, and going for a hike on the Muddy Keyser Trail is always a great adventure. If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. During your spree to Colorado River you'll meet some folks from Hot Sulphur Springs for sure.
