Colorado whitewater, Colorado River

garfield county, Shoshone Power Plant Exit 123 to Grizzly Creek Exit 121 section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS III-IV     2 miles

I had a blast on the river. The scenery was beautiful. The rapids were awesome and some would come over my head. It was a huge adreneline rush. Says J. Munson

The starting location is a short drive from Edwards, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The scenic beauty of Colorado and the water flowing gracefully down Colorado River make the trip here worthwhile. The Shoshone Power Plant Exit 123 to Grizzly
Creek Exit 121 stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. A good workout and spending some quality time
in nature have a lot of people coming here. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
This stretch is short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch.
