The Marble to Redstone section of Crystal River in Colorado is 3 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because     these hotels fill up quick. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Marble to Redstone stretch is just one of many. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Colorado tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. Briefly about the general area: There's good hiking along the Munsey Ruby Stock Driveway,   and visiting Paonia State Park is a tremendous thing to do. Summertime highs at Crystal River frequently tend to be in the 70's while overnight lows are commonly in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; nighttime lows in the-10's for Crystal River. At Crystal River you don’t see much precipitation. August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February.
