Colorado whitewater, Daisy Creek

Gunnison county, 40' Waterfall to confluence with Slate River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS V     1 miles
Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The 40' Waterfall to confluence with Slate River stretch of Daisy Creek in Gunnison County is 1 miles long and is a class V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that
around here. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the 40' Waterfall to confluence with Slate River stretch is one of them. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. If you're coming from Edwards
it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This is an extremely short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The beautiful scenery of Gunnison
County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything.
