  The natural beauty of Grand County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. The Tabernash to Granby section of Fraser River in Grand County is 9.4
    miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. If you're coming from Silverthorne
it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.

general area:
Very picturesque scenery and tremendous skiing is what you get at SolVista Basin, and going for a hike along the Strawberry Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. While you're here at Fraser River you will meet lots of folks from close by Granby; beaches are great and Surprise Beach is no exception. This river is a great place to visit. While you're here at Fraser River you can take a hike along the Caribou Trail. Fraser River is a location that is rather dehydrated usually. Through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is February.
