Colorado whitewater, Grizzly Creek

Garfield county, 1 mile up trail to Grizzly Creek Rest Area section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS IV-V     1 miles
This stretch of Grizzly Creek is 1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V section. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Getting your paddling
muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Edwards, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you
won’t get lost. The nature scenery of Colorado and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. The 1 mile up trail to Grizzly Creek Rest Area section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. This is a very short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in
advance you're all set.

Briefly about the general area:
