  If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The scenic beauty of Colorado and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is the only paddling stretch along Jasper Creek. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either
    way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. There are some good hotels near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The river winds through the Front Range and you get great scenery.
A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. The put-in is not too far from Boulder. The campgrounds here at Jasper Creek are pretty good. This is an extremely short section so no need to bring snacks. The to Boulder Creek stretch of Jasper Creek in Boulder County is 1 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V+ section.

Briefly about the general area:
 
Golden Gate Canyon State Park is a delightful place, and the snow is good at Eldora. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Front Range. Everybody loves Eldorado State Park; hiking is a popular thing to do around Jasper Creek; Bolling Gulch Trail is a good local trail. This is a great river. While you're here at Jasper Creek you will meet lots of people from close by Nederland; there's good hiking along the Switzerland Trail. Summertime highs at Jasper Creek generally tend to be in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's generally in the 40's. During the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Jasper Creek.
