The Medicine Bow Mountains scenery is wonderful. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is     a very popular destination. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Colorado tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. This is a pretty short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. If you're coming from Laramie it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. So many amusing things in the Medicine Bow Mountains, just incredible. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Green Ridge Trail, and the Big South Trail offers hiking at its best. This river is so wonderful. Joe Wright Creek is a location that is reasonably dry usually.
