The starting point is not too far from Grand Junction, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Colorado     is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The natural beauty of Mesa County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is a pretty decent length   section, it's good length for a morning trip. Briefly about the general area: Have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Whitewater Basin Trail, and there are plenty of people from Whitewater here at Kannah Creek. Going for a hike along the Bar X Bench Stock Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. Throughout the months of summer, highs regularly are in the 90's at Kannah Creek; the night is a tad cooler of course, typically in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Kannah Creek dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
