If you're coming from Boulder it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location. Left Hand Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Intersection of 81rd and 94rd to Buckingham Park stretch is the only one. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The wonderful     Colorado scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Intersection of 81rd and 94rd to Buckingham Park section of Left Hand Creek is 3 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV section. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. This is a bit of a short stretch so no need to bring snacks. The beauty of the Front Range is a great plus for this river. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want   to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Going for a hike on the Ceran Vrain Trail is always a magnificent adventure. A visit to Golden Gate Canyon State Park when you're here at Left Hand Creek is a good idea, and Moorhead Gulch is definitely a wonderful place to pop by. This river is so great. The friendly people of Jamestown like to hang out close by, and a journey here wouldn’t be complete without a journey to nearby Eldorado State Park. Go for a hike on the North Sheep Mountain Trail.
