The Pagosa Springs Town Run section of San Juan River is 1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Durango, as you can see on the road map further down. The wonderful Colorado scenery and the water flowing gracefully down San Juan River attract people from near and far. No need to look hard for hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. |
Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in
| nature will make you glad you came. The Pagosa Springs Town Run stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Colorado are often more challenging than in other states, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. on the river in one stretch. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
Briefly about the general area: Pagosa Springs is an inspiring spot to take a look at while here. On a magnificent
day at San Juan River you can take a hike along the Fourmile Stock Trail, and a short tour to Hot Springs is always worthwhile. This is such a great river. While you're here at San Juan River you can take a hike along the
Rainbow Trail, and you could always look at Horse Gulch. You'll meet a lot of folks from Pagosa Springs here. San Juan River is pretty dry commonly.
