If you're coming from Boulder it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The natural beauty of Park/Jefferson County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. If you have the time you can make this a two day |

about the general area: A journey to Holmes Gulch is always fun, and the cheerful people of Pine like to hang out close by. And that's not all the things to do here in the Front Range. Take a hike on the Pine Ridge Trail;
a trip to Pike National Forest revives the soul. Coming to this river is always a good idea. Hiking along the Rolling Creek Trail is nice fun.
