The wonderful Gunnison County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Colorado you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. This section of Yule Creek in Colorado is 2.25 miles long and is a class V+ section of whitewater according to American     Whitewater. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. This is a short paddling stretch so no need to bring snacks. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Briefly about the general area:   Places like Paonia State Park are wonderful to have a look at, and there's splendid hiking along the Munsey Ruby Stock Driveway. Anthracite Pass is a great location to take a look at nearby, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Yule Creek; Trail Riders Trail is a perfect local trail. This river is so wonderful. Gunnison National Forest is a delightful site to stretch your legs a bit, and hey, Gotta ski right? Crested Butte is a great location to do that. Summertime highs at Yule Creek commonly tend to be in the 70's, and the night is a tad colder of course, commonly in the 40's.
