If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have
| you coming back for more. The beautiful scenery of Walker County and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Pigeon Mountain Wildlife Management Area to SR 337 section is one of them. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

James H. Sloppy Floyd State Park is a pleasant site to stretch your legs a bit; at Allen Creek you always meet someone from Summerville. Places like Cloudland Canyon State Park are fine to stop by, and Huckleberry Point
is something you shouldn't miss if you're here. This is such a great river. Lumpkin Spring is a striking place to go to while you're at Allen Creek, and Jones Gap is a pleasant spot to visit. Summertime highs at Allen Creek
typically tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. During the wintertime the highs are frequently in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Allen Creek are in the 20's.
