The Highway 53 to Kelly Bridge/Etowah River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. Briefly about the general area: Hiking along the Brookshire Creek Trail is delightful fun, and Amicalola Falls and   Lodge State Park is a magnificent site.
