If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Georgia you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Athens-Clarke     County, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. This stretch is short so better bring some good walking shoes. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's.
