  The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The beautiful scenery of Georgia and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch
    has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your camp stove. The Duncan Bridge to Belton Bridge stretch of Chattahoochee River in Habersham/White/Hall County is 11 miles long and it is classified as a class II(III)
section by American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The starting point is not too far from Cornelia, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Great exercise and  
spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here.

Briefly about the general area:
Lots of folks from Alto come to Chattahoochee River, and Unicoi State Park is a nice location to stretch your legs a bit. Near Chattahoochee River you discover The Shoals which is a good spot to take a look at. Chattahoochee River typically gets a large amount of rainfall. Most of the rain falls all through March, and the driest month of the year is October. At Chattahoochee River through the months of summer highs are in the 80's while overnight lows are typically in the 60's.
