  If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The starting point is not too far from Seneca, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The wonderful Georgia scenery and the playfulness
    of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is wonderful. This section of Chattooga River in Georgia is 13 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III+(IV)
section of whitewater. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting your paddling muscles activated  
and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here.

Briefly about the general area:
Really magnificent skiing awaits you at Scaly Mountain, and Oconee State Park is a wonderful location to go to on a delightful day. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Here at Chattooga River you'll probably meet some people from Mountain Rest; Black Rock Mountain State Park is both nice and pretty. At this river you will never have a bad time. Going for a hike on the Bartram Trail is always a perfect adventure; nearby you stumble on the Chattooga Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail.
