The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Cleveland, as you can see on the road map further down. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There's     camping available near Conasauga River. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. The Chicken Coop Gap to East Cowpen Road section of Conasauga River in Murray County is 5.5 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Georgia are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting here   do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. Briefly about the general area: When you're here at Conasauga River it's always fun to go to Fort Mountain State Park; there's delightful hiking along the Gryder Camp Trail. Parksville Beach is next to Conasauga River and is a gorgeous beach to check out; the great people of Cisco like to hang out nearby. This is such a great river. The Cloer Trail offers hiking at its best, and Chicken Coop Gap is a glorious site to stop by. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Conasauga River. Throughout the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's.
