Georgia whitewater, Lazer Creek

Talbot county, Hendricks Road to Flint section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II-III     10 miles
The average Georgia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The Hendricks Road to Flint stretch of Lazer Creek in Talbot County is 10 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. The scenic beauty of Georgia and the playfulness of the water
are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other places. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This
river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Hendricks Road to Flint section is one of them. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. If you're coming from Thomaston it's not a long drive at all to the starting location,
please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost.
