Georgia whitewater, Line Creek

Fayette Coweta county, Below Highway 54 Close to Peachtree City section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II+     6 miles

This needs to be clearly updated. This Class 2 no longer exists. There is a hiking trail that follows along Line Creek, which is reached by entering the Line Creek city park. You can only portage Line creek:( Once upon a time we used to race/skim VW Bugs down trails, hit the creek at spots and drive up onto huge flat rocks where we would play music, drink beer and smoke.  Ahh, the seventies were a great time to grow up! Says John

Even
though Lake Mcintosh is full, there is still about a mile of whitewater. Says Michael Pitts

Some rapids are still thereafter Lake McIntosh was built. Still a little over a mile of rapids. Says Michael

This
is no longer. Fayette county has built a water shed. It covered the rapids. Says Adam

The nature scenery of Georgia and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. The put-in location is a short drive from Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta,

if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more.
