This section of Mossy Creek is 2.5 miles long and is a class III-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Georgia are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend     some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. If you're here, you might as well stop by The Shoals. At Mossy Creek through the long summer days highs are in the 80's; the nighttime is a tad cooler of course, usually in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Mossy Creek dip into the 20's. Mossy Creek sees pretty high levels of rainfall. The wettest month of the year is ordinarily March, that's the one that rains the most; October is the month with the least moisture.
