The Road to Chatahoochee stretch of Mud Creek is 4 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. There's camping available near Mud Creek. The scenic beauty of Habersham/Hall County and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons     enough to come here to paddle. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Road to Chatahoochee section is one   of them. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Briefly about the general area: Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mud Creek; Raven Cliff Falls Trail is a magnificent local trail. Nacoochee Valley is a great site to explore, and the Appalachian National Scenic Trail offers hiking at its best. This is such a great river. Places like Moccasin Creek State Park are good to have a look at; you'll probably meet some people from Helen here. Unicoi State Park is a fine spot to stretch your legs a bit.
