Georgia whitewater, Shoal Creek Hart county, GA 77 to Lake Hartwell section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II+     0.2 miles   The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Georgia are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This stretch of Shoal Creek is 0.2 miles long and is a class II+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The starting location is a short drive from Seneca, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This section is very short so     better bring some good walking shoes. Shoal Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the GA 77 to Lake Hartwell section is the only one. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The beautiful scenery of Hart County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have   reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Briefly about the general area: Tugaloo State Park is a tremendous place to check out on a lovely day; there are plenty of people from Bowersville here at Shoal Creek. Lake Hartwell State Park is both delightful and stunning, and it's in close proximity to Shoal Creek. A lot of rainfall falls at Shoal Creek. The wettest month of the year is commonly March, that's the one that rains the most while October is mostly the driest month. Through the warmest time of the year highs here at Shoal Creek reach the 80's, and the night is rather colder of course, typically in the 60's.
