tried to kayak this creek on 5/07, was to low to run, would like to try again though, do not know where to put in upcreek, put in at Riverside Rd. at bridge.From here checkedout the chattahoochee 1 mile up & down stream. very nice. Says greg b.

The starting location is a short drive from Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you wonít get lost. If you've been whitewater rafting
    and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The Sweetwater Creek State Park to Chattahoochee River
stretch of Sweetwater Creek in Douglas County is 4 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV(V) section of whitewater. No shortage of good hotels, but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The nature scenery of Georgia and the cool fresh water have people coming here. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. Getting a good workout and spending some  
quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling places. The Sweetwater Creek State Park to Chattahoochee River stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. The campgrounds here at Sweetwater Creek are pretty good.

Briefly about the general area:
Don't leave Sweetwater Creek without stopping by Sweetwater Creek State Park; there are plenty of folks from Lithia Springs here. Much rainfall falls at Sweetwater Creek. March is when you get the most rain here; October is the month with the least moisture.
