CLASS I-III     18 miles
  The wonderful Pickens/Gilmer/Gordon/Murray County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This stretch of Talking Rock Creek in Georgia is 18 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III section. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking
    here in Georgia are often more challenging than in other states, so don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around
here you'll find a large number of good places. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
