  The put-in is not too far from Twin Falls, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Idaho is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The Glendale Diversion to Richfield Diversion stretch of Big Wood River is 25 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. You might
    be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you won't find a large number of other places. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting some good exercise and just
being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. The natural beauty of Idaho and the water flowing gracefully down Big Wood River make the trip here worthwhile. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well.

The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's while Big Wood River night low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. Big Wood River is pretty arid regularly. The month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and August is the month with the least moisture.
