If you're coming from Twin Falls it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch of Big Wood River in Lincoln County is 14.1 miles long and it is classified as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other spots for that. This section is long enough for an overnight trip |
if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. The beautiful scenery of Idaho and the cool fresh water beats anything. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here.

The average Idaho whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving.
