  The average Idaho whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The Off Elk Meadows Road to Crooked Creek section of Brushy Fork in Idaho County is 13 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V+ section.     map further down the page so you wonít get lost. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of
people. The wonderful Idaho scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The wild scenery of the Bitterroot Range is great. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.  
You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.

Briefly about the general area:
Going for a hike on the Lee Ridge Trail is always a splendid adventure, and there are good spots to explore along the Granite Ridge Trail. So many amusing things to do in the Bitterroot Range, not enough time. Brushy Fork is a good place of typical rain. The wettest month of the year is commonly January, that's the one that snows the most; July is the month with the least moisture.
