The Headwaters to Reservoir stretch of Clearwater River - Little North Fork in Idaho is 30 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-IV(V) section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the |
rivers in this state are less manageable. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Whitewater paddling here in the Clearwater Mountains is a great experience. Whether you're whitewater
| rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The wonderful Shoshone and Clearwater County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. gear along.
Briefly about the general area: Don't leave Clearwater River - Little North Fork without first paying a visit to Jug Spring. The Old Montana Trail offers hiking at its best; why not take a refreshing
hike along the Freezeout Trail. This is such a great river. Clearwater River - Little North Fork gets a normal amount of yearly precipitation. The month of January is the wettest with most of the snow; July on the other hand is the driest.
