This stretch of Clearwater River - South Fork is 7.4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V section. This is not the only     paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. If you're coming from Lewiston it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The campgrounds here at Clearwater River - South Fork are pretty good. The Clearwater Mountains scenery is wonderful. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The nearby hotels   are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
