Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. The put-in location is a short drive from Lewiston, as you can see     on the road map further down. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This section of Hazard Creek is 1 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The Salmon River Mountains scenery is wonderful. This is a very short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of spots for that. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Hard Creek to Little Salmon confluence section is one of them. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing   to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Lots of people from Pollock come to Hazard Creek, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Brundage Mountain since you're here. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Salmon River Mountains. Take a hike on the Lava Butte Trail. Hazard Creek is frequently a rather dry site. Throughout May this area sees the most rain while July is frequently the driest month. All through the summertime months highs here at Hazard Creek get into the 90's.
