This stretch of Henrys Fork in Idaho is 11 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-V section. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff.     The starting location is a reasonable drive from Rexburg, as you can see on the road map further down. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The Riverside Campground to above Upper Mesa Falls stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. Briefly about the general area:   Going to Harriman State Park next to Henrys Fork is a delightful thing to do, and Sheep Falls is always fun to check out. A trip to Targhee National Forest when you're here at Henrys Fork is a great idea; if you're visiting from Ashton, you won't be the only one. This river is so good. During the long summer days at Henrys Fork highs are generally in the 70's while night lows are typically in the 40's.
