This section of Little Salmon River is 6 miles long and is a class III-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Idaho and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. A bit |

| number of good places. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: The fine folks of Pollock like to
hang out close by, and skiing at Brundage Mountain is one of those things you just must do. Just can't get enough of the Salmon River Mountains. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Lava Butte Trail. During the warm
months, highs regularly are in the 90's at Little Salmon River. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and night lows at Little Salmon River during the winter ordinarily descend into the 20's.
