I did this trip in about 6 hours. Lots of get and drag over huge boulders. Water level was moderate for a wet year. Nice if you have all day and get an early start. I screwed up and started paddling at 11:00 AM, didn't get to the haul out until dark... Oooops... Says Grant Grove
The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here |
are not easy. The starting location is a short drive from Moscow, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The scenic beauty of Idaho/ Clearwater County and the water flowing gracefully
| down Lolo Creek make the trip here worthwhile. The beautiful Clearwater Mountains scenery is an added bonus. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. | |
