If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. | to be a class IV-V section. The wild scenery of the Salmon River Mountains is great. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The Loon Creek Ranger Station to confluence with M. Fork Salmon section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. | |

Briefly about the general area: Loon Creek gets very little rain. Through the month of December you get the
most snow around here, and July on the other hand is the driest. High temperatures at Loon Creek during the summer months are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 30's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's while Loon Creek night low temperatures through the winter are in the-10's.
