  This section of Malad Big Wood River in Camas County is 2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV section of whitewater. If you're coming from Twin Falls it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Getting a good workout and just hanging out
    with mother nature have people coming from far and near. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared
to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The natural beauty of Idaho and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Idaho are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.

Malad Big Wood River is a place with many visitors from Hagerman, and a good location nearby is Malad Gorge. Malad Gorge State Park is a magnificent location to stretch your legs a bit, and Justice Grade is an interesting place to pop by while at Malad Big Wood River. This is a really good river. It's always delightful to visit Lower Salmon Falls, and Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument is a glorious national park. A tour to Florence Spring will fill your soul with great feelings. All through the warm months, highs ordinarily are in the 90's at Malad Big Wood River. All through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's.
