This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. The sections for whitewater rafting and     kayaking here in Idaho are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The river winds through the Sawtooth Range and you get great scenery. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the State Highway 21 to Middle Fork Salmon section is one of them.
