  The State Highway 21 to Middle Fork Salmon stretch of Marsh Creek in Idaho is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. The put-in location is a short drive from Mountain Home, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There's camping available near Marsh Creek. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. The sections for whitewater rafting and
    kayaking here in Idaho are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive
a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The river winds through the Sawtooth Range and you get great scenery. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the State Highway 21 to Middle Fork Salmon section is one of them. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Getting your paddling muscles activated  
and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. The beautiful scenery of Idaho and the playfulness of the water have people coming here.

Briefly about the general area:
If you're interested in cool geologic features, try Big Hole, and close by you come across the Blue Bunch Trail which is a glorious hiking trail. Having a glorious time in the Sawtooth Range is easy. The Bear Valley Creek Trail is a fine hiking trail close to Marsh Creek. The amount of precipitation that falls at Marsh Creek is close to the national average. January is when you get the most snow here; July is when it's the driest.
