This section of Owyhee River - East Fork in Idaho is 50 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Idaho you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy.
The starting point is not too far from Boise City-Nampa, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, perfect for a real wilderness adventure.
There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The wonderful Idaho scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come.
