  This section of Owyhee River - South Fork is 36 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The put-in location is a short drive from Boise City-Nampa, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. No matter if you're whitewater
    rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, so better bring your camping gear along. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive
a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the El Paso pipeline section is just one of them. The beautiful scenery of Idaho and the water flowing gracefully down Owyhee River - South Fork beats anything.
