The starting location is a reasonable drive from Missoula, as you can see on the road map further down. The beautiful scenery of -blank- County and the water flowing gracefully down Panther Creek make the trip here worthwhile. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this |
area has a large number of paddling places. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Idaho is often tougher than elsewhere, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This stretch is mid length, it's
| perfect for a one day trip. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. This stretch of Panther Creek in -blank- County is 8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-V section. Briefly about the general area: Why not take a refreshing hike along the Hot Springs Trail, and close by Fritzer Gulch is a wonderful place to go. All
the outdoors entertaining stuff in the Salmon River Mountains will keep you coming back again and again. Salmon National Forest is a perfect site to go if you're at Panther Creek; hiking is a popular thing to do around Panther
Creek; Birch Creek Trail is a great local trail. This is a great river. Here at Panther Creek you'll most likely meet some people from Shoup.
