This stretch of Priest River in Boundary / Bonner County     is 28.2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-IV section. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your sleeping bag. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Coeur d'Alene, as you can see on the road map further down. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. Briefly about the general area: You're sure to encounter some smiling people from Nordman here. Don't   leave Priest River without first going for a hike along the Chipmunk Rapids National Recreation Trail. Don't leave Priest River without going to Kaniksu National Forest; you can go for a hike on the Hanna Flast Nature Trail. This is such a wonderful river. Priest Lake State Park is a perfect site to go if you're at Priest River. The amount of rainfall that falls at Priest River is close to the national average. December is the month that gets the most snow while July is usually the driest month. Summer at Priest River arrives with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's.
