This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. The campgrounds here at Rapid River are pretty good. from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Salmon River Mountains scenery is wonderful. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality
time in nature will make you glad you came.
Briefly about the general area: Why not take a refreshing hike along the Garden Creek Trail, and Rapid River is right by the Big Baldy Ridge Trail. Yep, outdoors entertaining
stuff truly is plentiful here in the Salmon River Mountains. The yearly rainfall here at Rapid River is about average. January is the wettest month with most snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
