The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Mountain Home, as you can see on the road map further down. The Hellroaring Creek to Redfish Lake Creek section of Salmon River is 12 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for |
beginners. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill
| up quick. The wonderful Custer County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Salmon River beats anything. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camping stuff. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Hellroaring Creek to Redfish Lake Creek section is just one of them. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.

along the Bull Moose Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. Going to Challis National Forest next to Salmon River is a wonderful thing to do; if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the
Yellow Belly Trail. This river is so good. Club Canyon is a great place to look at. For the period of the summer months highs here at Salmon River reach the 70's. Summer night lows descend down to the 30's. High temperatures
throughout the winter are normally in the 20's, and nighttime lows all through the wintertime for Salmon River tend to be in the-10's. Salmon River is commonly a relatively arid spot.
